About me
When I was younger I had a hard time with reading and I wasn't very good at it. But I always enjoyed having bedtime stories being read to me by my dad as I went to sleep. I really cherish this time because the love I have for books stemmed from these nightly rituals. Slowly my appreciation and love for books grew. The first time I read a book with a page count over five-hundred was in the fourth grade and it was the twilight series. My mom had read the first book before me and felt that I would really enjoy this series and this kicked off the beginning of my bibliomania or passion and enthusiasm for collecting books. What started off as a love for paranormal romance books turned into a love of all books with romance in it. Although my book of choice is romance I grew to love all books and truly appreciate all that authors have to give to us readers.
This love of books has flourished in to the dream of becoming an author of my own books and even starting my own bookstore: The Bibliophiles Corner. My bookstore will be dedicated to advocating to all readers and to those who have not found their love for reading as of yet. My motto for anyone who believes they do not like reading is this: there is a passion for books in every person and those who have not yet found this passion have not yet found the right books. I hope to be able to help people find this passion for books like I found mine because it truly is a magical experience.

my encounters of the book kind
So I have had some interesting encounters with people while I have been caught reading books and I thought it would be fun to share them with every one. This one instance is an example of something that has happened to me on many different occasions. Before I had an Iphone or kindle I brought a book with me everywhere I went, which I still do on occasion. Once I was able to get a surplus of books on an app on my phone it was much easier to cart around all the books I read. This caused a certain reaction in older adults though that affected how they looked at or thought of me. All of the sudden I would receive snide comments on how millennials are always on their phones. They didn't bother to talk to me about it or even try to see what I was actually doing. Although being treated this way was kind of hurtful I haven't changed the way I read because with how fast I read it is much more convenient to have books in the kindle format.
This little story is about the time I wrote a short story for my English 101 class my freshman year of college. Now I don't usually like to share the things I write with people because it is a huge part of who I am, it usually holds a lot of emotional baggage, and I tend to be really self-conscious of my writing. Despite knowing all of this about myself I decided that I was going to write a short story for my final presentation project for the class. I had a great story idea that I was pretty proud of and very excited to write about. The day of presentations I am pretty nervous because public speaking already frightens me and I added sharing my own writing to the mix. I was able to do it though even through the minor stuttering and falling over my own words. The best part was my classmates and professor were able to grasp all of the concepts and creativity that I put into it. It was a great day in which I felt truly accomplished because I was finally taking the right steps into the direction I needed to go in.
One of my favorite television shows is the Gilmore Girl's series because I could relate to Rory Gilmore and the life she was living on a deep level. One scene of the show that I remember enjoying a lot was when someone questions why Rory has brought a book with her to a party. Her response was she always has a book with her. I was so happy that they had this scene in the show because I could relate to it in that I usually always have a book with me no matter where I go and I'm sure many other book lovers could relate to it as well. Aside from that I also believe this is a great television show for people who love reading and have a strong relationship with their mother.
